The DMT blade is the measuring devise, part of the DMT set of equipment, patented in 1877 by Prof. Silvano Marchetti, standardized in ASTM, EUROCODE, ISO and several national standards. Designed to register 3 pressure readings every 0.20 m, DMT is a strain-controlled test, providing in-situ parameters such as the constrained modulus (M) undrained shear strength (su), peak frictional angle (蠁) and soil behavior type index (ID) which are routinely used in conventional geotechnical design methods to assess bearing capacity, settlements, and overall ground performance.
